An opportunity has arisen to join the Finance Business Partnering Team in the role of Specialist, supporting a range of council service areas in managing their financial responsibilities. This will include supporting and developing established processes, budget monitoring, financial planning, accounts closure, etc., as well as providing financial advice and support to the council’s fast-paced transformation agenda.
The post reports directly to the Finance Business Partnering Accountant within a team of nine people. The post is essential to the effective financial management of the council, particularly at a time of change and development for both the council and the North Lincolnshire area, both financially and structurally.
While supporting and coordinating some of the main financial processes within the council, the Team is focusing more and more on developmental/transformational issues. This post is essential to that evolution, working hand in hand with Services to ensure value for money and sustainable outcomes are achieved in all that we do.
There is an opportunity to work from home or at other Council establishments, particularly Church Square House in Scunthorpe, although attendance may be required at other buildings where face-to-face contact is necessary.
We are looking for a pro-active and agile person who can communicate positively on both a 1:1 and group basis and is able to manage multiple workstreams concurrently. Significant experience of delivering and supporting financial management processes is essential, and the successful candidate should hold an accountancy qualification, preferably AAT qualified or higher.
