Do you have effective planning or scheduling experience? Or, do you have strong MS Excel skills and would like a new opportunity to develop these in? Are you based in or around Corby?
TATA Steel is currently undergoing a large development and investment into their Corby site. The successful applicant would be able to be part of an opportunity of planning a completely new production line and suggesting ideas for improvement. Working with an established team of five, extensive training will be provided as well as a substantive support group for you to grow, learn and develop.
Role - Production Planner
Pay - £17.58ph (Band E, £32,000)
Location- TATA Steel, Weldon Rd, Corby NN17 5UA
(100% office based initially with some potential for hybrid working after initial training)
Shift pattern- Mon-Fri, 07:30-16:30 (one hour unpaid lunch)
Duration- 6 months initially with the view to extend or offer permanent role
Responsibilities:
1. Communicating with Production Managers on a daily basis via telephone and email
2. Being part of the generation of a new production line and supporting with the planning required for this
3. Suggesting improvements to processes for the generation of the new production line and the planning process
4. Providing a range of planning and support activities for the plant units
5. Generating reports as requested and in a timely fashion
6. Maintaining existing planning and scheduling systems
7. Being a single point of contact for scheduling and planning enquiries
8. Using MS Excel at an intermediate level including formulas, vlookup and pivot tables
9. Communicating with internal and external contacts in a clear and efficient manner
10. Providing resolutions to all queries raised
Experience needed:
11. Prior experience in Supply Chain/Planner/Schedule role
12. Capacity to operate with minimal supervision
13. Strong IT literacy skills including MS office, especially Excel
14. Experience with in house IT systems
15. Confident telephone manner
16. Strong verbal and written communication skills
17. Excellent interpersonal skills
18. Previous experience using SAP (desirable)
