As a Senior Lecturer, this project post will drive the curriculum designfor our new Registered Degree Nursing Apprenticeship (Adult Nursing) course andengage in the shaping the implementation of the curriculum, co-ordinating theteam and leadership associated with this. Main duties of the job
Ideally candidates will have knowledge, experience and skills within thefield of Apprenticeships and Nursing education alongside extensive partnershipliaison will need to be acurrent Registered Adult Nurse withthe Nursing Midwifery Council, and havedemonstrableexpertise in innovative,effective and inspirational teaching and learning for students.
The successful candidate will need to be motivated, proactive and engagewith collaborative working both as a team and with wider partners. We aim toensure that we equip our graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in theworkplace upon graduation and throughout their professional careers. As such,we not only focus on the acquisition of caring science knowledge, but also onvital transferable skills, such as compassionate leadership and robust digitalskills.

Campus base: Based at Bishop Otter Campus, but required to work at any centre where University business is conducted that is within reasonable distance of the campus base.
Function of the Post:
As a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Allied Health the post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of a Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship. This will be continuing curriculum development with partnership engagement, students and service/user care groups and building on our success of providing Apprenticeships for local employers for Nursing and Allied Health. Becoming a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing within our new School will also require teaching/learning activity in your field of practice, engagement with quality assurance compliance both with the regulators and across work-related learning experiences as relevant, research and ensuring this apprenticeship become embedded in the School.
The working year will be divided between teaching, teaching-related administration, assessment, research and income generation activities in such proportions as may be decided by the Head of School of Nursing and Allied Health after appropriate consultation, in accordance with the guidelines in the academic contract.
At Senior Lecturer level the post holder will be expected to engage in the planning, design and leadership of teaching and research activity, and to be making wider contributions with partners and activity associated with the School and the University.

4. Take responsibility for the development of the Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship which complement our current provision within the School of Nursing and Allied Health
5. Take responsibility for curriculum development engagement activity, course design and associated marketing.
6. Implementation of the programme within the School.
7. At times take sole responsibility for the design of teaching material and delivery across a range of modules or within a subject area. This may be at the level of the programme lead in the future.
8. Contribute to the planning, design and development of objectives and material.

10. Identify learning needs of students and develop appropriate learning outcomes.
11. Use time outside of teaching hours to prepare well-constructed, varied teaching sessions, ensuring that content, methods of delivery and learning materials will meet the defined learning outcomes.

13. Oversee the work of students, provide advice on study skills and help them with learning problems.
14. Undertake the supervision of students projects, fieldwork and placements.
