Advice and Compliance Officer
Duration: Placement until 31 March 2025

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (office-based)
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join a professional team within the Advice & Compliance Directorate of an organisation committed to equality. This Staff Officer position offers an opportunity to work on important initiatives that promote equality of opportunity and combat discrimination.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Promotion of Equality Programmes:
o Support the development and implementation of positive action strategies and equality programmes across areas such as age, disability, race, religion, political opinion, sexual orientation, sex equality, and equal pay.
o Work collaboratively with employers and service providers to drive meaningful progress.
2. Affirmative Action Strategies:
o Promote and implement affirmative action measures through Article 55 reviews with public and private sector employers.
o Support compliance with agreed reporting arrangements to ensure effective outcomes.
3. Complaint Settlement Oversight:
o Ensure settlement terms arising from discrimination complaints are met within agreed timelines.
o Provide advice and assistance to facilitate resolution and compliance.
4. Review of Advertisements:
o Address potentially discriminatory advertisements with employers.
o Promote best practices in advertising and provide guidance to stakeholders.
5. Public Sector Engagement:
o Develop and maintain strong relationships with public sector employers to support equality of opportunity.
o Collaborate on employment policy development under Section 75 to advance inclusive practices.
Working Conditions:
* Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (35-minute lunch); Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (40-minute lunch).
* Location: This is a fully office-based role.
