An exciting opportunity has arisen and we are looking for a self-motivated, patient/service focused Pharmacy Assistant who will contribute to and work well within our existing team in the Pharmacy Production Unit.
To be considered for this role you should have good organisational and communication skills, an eye for detail, good accuracy skills and hold the ability to use your own initiative and work to time schedules under pressure.
Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Assistant working in the Production Unit, the successful candidate will undertake a wide range of duties related to the preparation, labelling, distribution and storage of both sterile and non-sterile products. This may include assisting with the preparation of chemotherapy and nutritional feeds, and partaking in the over-labelling and pre-packing of oral medications for use throughout the Central Integrated Health Community.
Many aspects of the role are undertaken in a controlled environment and the successful applicant will be required to assist with environmental monitoring and maintenance of these controlled working areas.
Following initial competency training, the successful applicant will be enrolled to complete the NVQ Level in Pharmacy Services and also be given the opportunity to attend courses where appropriate to further their development.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
