As an Outstation Technician, you'll play a vital role in maintaining our latest fleet of Desiro City trains. We're looking for individuals with a strong background in both electrical and mechanical engineering, coupled with experience in fault diagnosis Previous rail experience is greatly preferred, however we will still provide you with full training. You will work out of the many remote outstation locations, across the London area, but your base location will be in either Cricklewood or Farringdon. This role operates on a shift basis, encompassing both day and night shifts to ensure round-the-clock support. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to complete mandatory online testing. Additionally, to comply with legal obligations outlined in the Working Time Regulations, ROGS Regulations, and other Railway Group Standards, successful candidates should be based within a one-hour commute from the depot. You'll make a difference by Undertake maintenance and repair of the allocated rolling stock to meet the requirements of the production plan Carry out download diagnosis and fault finding to an advanced level Produce complex, analytical technical reports on fault investigation Assist other team members with the development of technical skills Specialise in areas of technical expertise Assist with the provision of technical support at incidents off depot Provide first line support at stations and mainline incidents. Your success will be grounded by Proven experience within a predominately electrical engineering environment - ideally within fault finding. Experience in documenting actions and operations accurately and in line with procedures. Good knowledge and understanding for care of tools, equipment and PPE. Knowledge of Health & Safety including bio-hazards, manual handling and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH). Experience of using a laptop for diagnostic, faultfinding and rectification purposes and who can produce detailed complex, analytical technical reports.
