Project Development Manager – Renewable Energy
A leading renewable energy company with a strong presence in the European green energy market is seeking a Project Development Manager to oversee the permitting process for large-scale renewable projects in the UK. The company has been delivering utility-scale and commercial projects across multiple European markets for a number of years. With a substantial development portfolio and a growing pipeline, the company is dedicated to expanding its impact in the renewable energy sector.
Role Overview
As a key member of the development team, the Project Development Manager will be responsible for managing projects from inception to construction readiness, ensuring all permitting and planning requirements are met. The ideal candidate will have experience in planning and development, with expertise in navigating permitting processes for projects in rural locations. Experience in the renewable energy sector is desirable but not essential.
This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all aspects of project development, coordinating with local stakeholders.
* Commission and monitor required studies.
* Manage relationships with consultants, advisors, local authorities, grid operators, and suppliers.
* Work closely with spatial planners, technical and environmental experts to prepare permitting applications.
* Lead the permitting process with the relevant authorities.
* Prepare and submit bids for public and private tenders.
* Support pre-construction activities, including risk assessments, procurement, and EPC negotiations.
Skills & Experience Required
* Degree in a relevant field.
* 5+ years of experience in development.
* Project management experience in renewable energy, telecom, power infrastructure, or similar sectors.
* Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* High level of integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment.
* Leadership qualities and a collaborative mindset.
* Full driving license, with willingness to travel frequently.
