About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chartered Structural Engineer to join our team for the prestigious 10 Dock Project at Devonport. This landmark project involves the design, development, and delivery of critical infrastructure, requiring a professional who excels in structural analysis, design, and compliance with industry standards. As a Chartered Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of the project, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities: Structural Design and Analysis: Lead the design and structural analysis of complex infrastructure elements, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and regulations. Develop innovative solutions for structural challenges using materials like steel, concrete, and composites. Project Delivery: Oversee the technical aspects of structural engineering throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to completion. Work closely with architects, project managers, and contractors to integrate structural solutions into the overall project design. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all designs and construction adhere to relevant statutory requirements, design codes, and safety standards. Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance to ensure construction meets design specifications. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including clients and regulatory bodies, to align project objectives with technical and compliance standards. Prepare detailed reports and documentation to communicate design solutions and project progress effectively. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement innovative engineering practices, tools, and technologies to enhance project outcomes. Stay up to date with industry trends, standards, and advancements in structural engineering. Requirements: Chartered Status (CEng/MIStructE) with the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or equivalent. Proven experience in structural engineering, ideally on large-scale infrastructure or complex projects. Expertise in structural design and analysis, including load calculations and material assessments. Strong knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, BS Standards). Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, Tekla). Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver under tight deadlines. Desirable Skills: Experience in working on Nuclear Projects but not a must. Familiarity with Devonport Dockyard operations or similar environments. Knowledge of sustainable and innovative engineering practices.
