Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring their oral health is maintained and improved. You will be responsible for performing various dental hygiene procedures, educating patients about oral health, and collaborating with the dental team to deliver exceptional patient care.
Duties
1. Conduct thorough dental scaling procedures to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth.
2. Perform periodontal assessments and charting to monitor patients' gum health.
3. Perform periodontal treatment under local anaesthetic.
4. Take medical histories and record vital signs as part of the patient assessment process.
5. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
6. Assist in the application of preventive treatments such as fluoride varnishes and sealants.
7. Utilise medical imaging techniques to capture radiographs for diagnostic purposes.
8. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with health regulations.
9. Collaborate with dentists and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
Skills
1. Proficient in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) for creating custom dental appliances or restorations is advantageous.
2. Strong knowledge of human anatomy, particularly related to oral health, is essential.
3. Familiarity with medical imaging technologies to assist in diagnostics is preferred.
4. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and work collaboratively within a team.
5. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills to manage patient records accurately.
6. Ability to provide compassionate care while maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
