Role: QC Lab Technician
Location: Swindon, UK
Duration: 12 Months
This role is 4 days on and 4 days off from 7 am to 7 pm.
The Chemistry Department is part of the Quality Control Department at client Swindon. The Chemistry Department is responsible for testing Final Products, intermediate products, water, and Raw Materials for quality acceptance. All results can be used towards Finished Product Batch Release and Raw Material release.
The primary responsibilities of this position include preparing samples while working with skilled scientists. All work is performed in line with GMP and GLP procedures. The candidate must be able to understand and follow written instructions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in conducting Finished Product QC release testing as required, using techniques such as Balances, pH meter, UV, Karl Fisher, FT-IR, TLC, and Dissolution under daily supervision.
2. Print documents using Qumas.
3. Understand and correctly implement written procedures.
4. Perform analytical work with average testing volumes/output while generating data with minimal errors.
5. Manage day-to-day tasks with daily supervision/guidance.
6. Identify correct specifications and methods for testing, including stability and validation protocols.
7. Complete allocated tasks within the provided time frame.
8. Maintain personal and communal laboratory areas in line with 5S principles.
9. Maintain compliance with GMP, including stick-ins, archiving, and Compliancewire tasks.
10. Work in compliance with EH&S standards, ensuring all tasks are conducted in accordance with defined Risk & COSHH assessments.
11. Have basic knowledge of corporate standards, site policies and procedures, and Zydis behaviors.
Education or Equivalent Requirements:
Proficient (excellent) in English verbal and written communication skills.

2. Ability to effectively follow written instructions.
3. Strong organizational skills.
4. Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
1. Individual may be required to sit, stand, and walk regularly.
2. Occasionally lift 0-15 pounds.
3. Be accessible to the chemistry laboratory.
4. Specific vision requirements include reading written documents and frequent use of a computer monitor.
Individual’s primary work area will be the chemistry laboratory located on the ground floor of the building. This laboratory is a busy area and sometimes noisy. For quieter working conditions, a hot desk will be available in the write-up area where computer work can be performed.
