Occupational Therapist role available in Adult Social Care, working with individuals and their carers to promote well-being, independence, and protection.
Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a Reablement Occupational Therapist to join their award-winning adult social care team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will work within legal frameworks, guidance, policies, and procedures to provide interventions, undertake assessments, reviews, care, and support planning with individuals and their carers.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering reablement training to care providers
* Working with key stakeholders to maximise independence by completing robust assessments and setting SMART goals
* Considering and maximising the use of assistive technology, including Telecare, to maximise independence
* Carrying out specialist functional assessments, including activities of daily living, seating, postural assessments, environmental controls, adaptations, transport, and accessing community
The ideal candidate will have:
* A professional degree-level Occupational Therapy qualification or equivalent
* A full EU driving licence and access to a daily-use car
* Experience in a Social Care or healthcare environment
* Demonstrable experience of managing risk in a Social Care or healthcare setting
* Demonstrable experience in undertaking assessments of complex needs
