Hays are currently recruiting an Urban Drainage Modelling Specialist for Water Projects to be based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. We are working in partnership with a world-leading design, engineering and project management organisation dedicated to engineering a better future for everyone. The company is committed to delivering end to end service to their clients across the whole life cycle from Capital, Consulting, Decommissioning, Engineering and Design, Operations and Maintenance, Project and Program management up to Project Delivery.
Your new role
As an Urban Drainage Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering clean water network infrastructure projects and support the leadership and development of our Urban Drainage Modelling capability. You will take on the role of Technical Lead for projects to ensure their successful delivery.
Key responsibilities:
1. Creating robust sewer network models for analysis and solution development.
2. Updating and improving models with a focus on specific study drivers.
3. Assessing catchment hydraulics and pollutant sources to identify needs and risks.
4. Constructing models to assess interactions between sewers, watercourses, and overland flows.
5. Determining the hydraulic, environmental, and operational needs of catchments and developing strategies to improve performance.
6. Developing outline designs and supporting the detailed design process.
7. Providing direction and advice to clients to help them make informed decisions.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in the Urban Drainage Modelling Specialist role, you must have the following qualifications and skills:
* Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography or other related field
* Excellent knowledge of water and waste water treatment, storage solutions, hydraulics
* Sound knowledge of UK Design and practices
* Familiar with UK and EU Standards
* Proficient with ICM Software
* At least 5 years of experience
