Introduction
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for a dedicated EHCP annual review Coordinator who has experience working with or supporting young people with SEND. You will need the skills to chair an annual review to ensure that Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) are effectively reviewed and updated with preparation for adulthood outcomes included to meet the evolving needs of young people.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive team where you will liaise with young people, families, and professionals to coordinate timely and high-quality EHCP reviews. This is a role that can predominantly be carried out at home where you can prepare for the annual reviews and conduct them on Teams. The annual reviews will need to take place within normal working hours but preparation time is flexible.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure the annual reviews are diarised within a year from the previous one.
2. Prior to the annual review, make suggested amendments to the EHCP in order that it is up to date reflecting the learners needs and new outcomes are added to prepare them for adulthood.
3. Meet with the tutors where necessary to gather the information.
4. Invite all relevant parties to the annual review.
5. Liaise with outside agencies where necessary.
6. Gather relevant information to inform amendments.
7. Chair the annual review.
8. Complete paperwork particular to the local authority named on the EHCP.
9. Ensure completed paperwork is sent to the Local Authority following the annual review.
10. Inform the EHCP Manager of annual reviews taken place or any issues surrounding them.
About Us
New Meaning Training offers education with a difference. It is an alternative education provider helping young people aged 16-25 to find their strengths and develop the confidence and skills to earn their own living. Around 250 young people will join one of our programmes this year, many having been referred by secondary schools, pupil referral units and Special Education Needs settings. At our centres we offer a variety of learning programmes including Construction Multiskills, Sports, Boost Workskills and Achieve Lifeskills. All our programmes incorporate functional skills qualifications (Maths and English). Since New Meaning Training opened its first centre in High Wycombe in 2015, the organisation is now supporting young people across Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Berkshire and Warwickshire.
You will have:
1. Experience leading in SEND
2. Experience chairing or being part of meetings to support young people with SEND
3. Knowledge of preparation for adulthood outcomes
4. Strong communication skills, with excellent diplomacy
5. Exceptional attention to detail.
6. Ability to keep accurate records.
7. Time management and self-organised.
8. Ability to work within deadlines.
9. Passion for sharing knowledge and developing young people.
10. An understanding of learning styles.
11. Be prepared to work with supporting agencies to enable the progression of young people.
12. Good understanding of safeguarding practice.

Enhanced DBS check required.
