Receptionist Permanent, 15 hours per week, Band 2
An opportunity has arisen to join the Trust's busy Outpatient Reception team working across our Torbay hospital. Working days are Thursday and Friday, with hours varying between 08:00-17:00 (shifts).
We are looking for a friendly, customer service-focused individual who shares our core Trust values. The ideal post holder will have previous reception/admin experience and be able to provide a high standard of customer service, as they will be representing the Trust as the first point of contact with our patients.
They will be organised and able to work in a busy environment with excellent communication skills, as the role will involve contact with patients, clinical, and administrative staff. It is an exciting opportunity for anyone who is looking for a role in a busy and enthusiastic team delivering a high standard of care to patients. You will need to be a proactive, flexible, confident, and motivated individual.
Main duties of the job
* Checking patients in for Outpatient appointments
* Booking, cancelling, and rearranging Outpatient appointments
* Management of notes (tracing, requesting, etc.)
* Setting up clinics for the day
* Associated administration tasks (completing outcomes, etc.)
* Taking inbound calls
* Maintaining a high standard of customer service
* Using hospital systems to effectively support the management of the patient journey
* Managing spreadsheets as required
* Liaising with colleagues at all levels to ensure the patient journey is smooth
* Working in accordance with the Trust policies at all times
About us
The Outpatient reception team covers seven busy reception areas within Torbay Hospital: Main Outpatients Reception, Eye Clinic Reception, Fracture Clinic Reception, MAAT Reception, Paediatrics Reception, and Crow Thorne Reception. The team comprises 15 staff that provide reception services for a multitude of different specialties across Outpatients.
Qualifications and Training
Essential
* 4 GCSE A - C to include Maths and English or equivalent
Desirable
* Knowledge of IHCS/PAS
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
* Experience in a face-to-face customer service role
* Experience in an administration/clerical role
* Experience in a healthcare/hospital setting
* Experience of working with computers
* Experience working with emails, spreadsheets, and Microsoft packages
Desirable
* Previous NHS experience
