Job Description Children, Education and Justice Services Early Years Assistant - fixed term until 26/06/2025 Forthview School Salary: £24,909 - £25,116 (pro-rata for part time and sessional) Hours: 13 per week, 39 weeks sessional Forthview Primary School is a Public Private Partnership funded school opened in West Pilton, North Edinburgh in 2003 as the merger of Craigmuir and Inchview Primary Schools. The nursery team provides 64 full time places. Demand for the places is high with an increasing population in the area. There is a strong experienced team in the nursery. This is an Early Years Assistant post based in the nursery working from 10.45am to 2pm covering lunches. Early Years Assistants are required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of starting employment. They are also required to achieve an SCQF Level 2 Social Services for Children and Young People qualification within 5 years of being registered with the SSSC and this is funded by the early years service. There will be an opportunity for those who wish to progress to SCQF Level 3 to receive funding for this. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
