Description of work: The A38 Saltash Tunnel Refurbishment Project entails a team of skilled electrical operatives undertaking the phased replacement of low voltage (LV) equipment and cabling systems both within and associated with the A38 road tunnel. This critical work will involve the replacement and upgrade of existing electrical infrastructure to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with current standards. The operatives will be responsible for the meticulous planning and execution of tasks, including the installation of new cabling, testing, and commissioning of LV apparatus, all while minimizing disruptions to the tunnel's operations. Their expertise will be pivotal in enhancing the tunnel's electrical performance and safety for both workers and commuters. The 410mtr long tunnel will be closed for night closures during the refurbishment. Although predominantly night work for the tunnel refurbishment there will be a requirement for teams to also be available for day works when working on the Tamar Bridge or where possible within the Tunnel Buildings. responsible for the replacement of all LV Distribution Cabling, LV Equipment (switchboard, distribution boards and tunnel electrical distribution points), lighting replacement, traffic signage replacement and termination of all TCS /SCADA equipment on behalf of the systems integrator & Client.
