The Procurement Officer will assist the Capital Programme Service in the procurement and delivery of goods and services to the Council. They will be responsible for developing category strategies with the Procurement Manager, Budget Responsible Officers, and departmental teams as appropriate. They will assist in negotiations of a complexity and value appropriate to their role and the category upon which they are working. They will be expected to ensure customer compliance with established best practice, governance, legislation, best value, efficient and effective business processes, and good supplier relationship management. They will assist in the course of procuring projects, and consequently, some project management skills will be required.
