We are seeking a Data Domain Product Owner to collaborate closely with data analytics teams, ensuring that domain-specific datasets meet their expectations and needs. This role offers the opportunity to engage with data analytics teams across Bupa, understand the value they derive from data, and develop the strategy, roadmap, and execution plan for creating valuable, reusable domain-specific datasets that facilitate the democratisation of our data to a broader audience. How you’ll help us make health happen: Lead creation of domain-specific datasets working with data analytics teams ensuring datasets are easy to understand and re-usable across teams Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Owning the product strategy, roadmap and execution of one or more data domains (e.g. Customer, Product, Provider, Claims) Chairing and coordinating one or more data domain working groups, involving the relevant business stakeholders in decision-making Leading the creation, governance, and management of domain-specific conceptual data models Identifying, clarifying & documenting conceptual data model entities and their business data definitions Developing a value-led backlog for the team building the datasets, documenting and explaining new requirements using user stories, personas, and acceptance tests Establishing process for testing new product or features with data analytics teams Implementing robust change process to assess potential impact of new features on existing business processes and minimise issues Managing and resolving master data management queries related to domain-specific datasets Support the development of effective Master Data requirements through a solid understanding of Bupa processes, applications and data Assessing opportunities to improve data quality at source where it impacts data analytics teams ability to derive value from domain-specific datasets Communicate product strategy, roadmap and deliverables to internal customers regularly, drawing out the ‘so what?’ and addressing their concerns and feedback Champion data best practices, help increase data literacy across Bupa and identify opportunities to improve Bupa’s data analytics operating model Take a proactive approach to your own continuous professional development Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role: Essential Experience with managing the development and delivery of a data product for an internal customer Understanding of the fundamentals of the data lifecycle, including how it is generated, collected, data quality and validation steps, data flows between upstream and downstream systems, production and consumption Experience in establishing and monitoring KPIs to measure value delivered Excellent team player who can establish effective working relationships at all levels within the business Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to deliver in complex and political environments Proactive, self-learner, organised, and able to prioritise work in an agile, fast-moving environment Ability to embrace change and be positive in approach to challenges by adjusting work priorities and influencing others to do the same Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop clear insights for the business Highly Desirable Knowledge of data architecture and modelling Exposure to master data management Experience of project management methods e.g. agile, waterfall, Scrum etc Experience of working in an agile squad Commercial experience in a related sector (e.g. insurance, healthcare) or function (e.g. marketing) Benefits Our benefits are designed to make health happen for our people.
