Job summary Volunteers play an integral part in delivering our services across the health board and we truly believe that our volunteers complement our workforce in a variety of ways that add value to the experience of patients and visitors. The post holder will work as part of the Robins Volunteer team to co-ordinate, develop and promote the scheme across the health board. Main duties of the job The Robins Scheme was established in 2011 as a ward based befriending service. Our Robins support our patients in a variety of ways, from making a cuppa/hot drink, general reassurance, running errands and meeting and greeting patients on arrival at our hospital sites. During the pandemic we also developed a number of additional volunteering roles to respond to the emergency, including marshalling, meet and greet, and handing out masks and hand sanitiser. These volunteers continue to support at our vaccination/booster centres. The Volunteer Coordinator role is a key post supporting the delivery of a high quality Robins voluntary service which aims to increase volunteer numbers and develop new volunteer roles to complement staff, support visitors, families and carers, enhancing patient experience and services provided by the health board. This role requires coordination of the volunteer's journey from enquiry through to active delivery of volunteering. The Volunteer Coordinator will work as part of a small team of Volunteer Co-ordinators, supported by the Robins Volunteers Manager.
