Professional In partnership with the Chief Nursing Officer oversee the establishment, implementation and monitoring of a trust wide long term and sustainable quality strategy, to include patient experience, safety, risk management and clinical outcomes frameworks with defined targets and measures Define the strategic direction of the Quality, Governance and Patient Experience agendas, and lead the implementation, monitoring and audit cycle of these Be responsible for the development of the Trusts Clinical Risk Management Framework as a corner stone to the Quality Strategy, ensuring that it aligns to best practice and fosters and develops a consistent culture of risk maturity across all areas of the Trust Ensure that the risk registers accurately reflect risk which is escalated within the organisation to inform the Trusts strategic risk register and Board Assurance Framework Take the strategic lead on behalf of the Chief Nursing Officer for a delivery of a high-quality Safeguarding service to children and young people in all areas of the Trust ensuring that all statutory duties and best practice standards are implemented and monitored Ensure that the Trust is able to demonstrate compliance with all local and national safeguarding standards and good practice including delivery of appropriate levels of safeguarding training to all Trust staff Ensure nursing and midwifery workforce strategies are in place Clinical Ensure that patient experience and, where available, patient reported outcome measures drives the Quality Strategy and agendas so that Clinical Outcomes are defined in consultation with our population and service users Ensure feedback via complaints, concerns and compliments are appropriately managed and responded and lead on CQC and other patient and service user experience surveys to enhance experience Work with senior nursing leads to ensure that areas are working towards, achieving and maintaining an outstanding CQC standard and that improvement measures are instigated and supported in any areas which do not currently achieve outstanding Ensure that the Trust complies with statutory, regulatory, contractual and best practice requirements in relation to governance and quality, with effective assurance monitoring process in place, Point of Care to Board integrated reporting and risk escalation Provide expert leadership and direction to Nursing and Midwifery teams to ensure there are effective systems in place to monitor clinical practice and patient care through agreed indicators and metrics Responsible for ensuring clinical governance systems implemented within the Trust are effective and working in line with NHS Improvement Well- Led assessment Ensure that the recommendations from Children Safeguarding Practice Reviews are implemented and embedded promptly across the Trust Where appropriate be the Senior Responsible Officer for initiatives across the Trust foot print and work in collaboration with others across the Integrated Care System Analytical and judgmental responsibilities Appraise national documents, present conclusions and recommendations to Board On behalf of the Chief Nurse, take the strategic lead for developing non-medical research across the Trust working closely with the Research and Development Leads. Direct the outputs from the jointly appointed Professors ensuring it meets the Trusts priorities Maintain an awareness and up to date knowledge of national Nursing and Midwifery initiatives which will inform new ways of working within the Trust Identify opportunities and provide expert advice to clinical colleagues undertaking research projects Review and interpret developments in clinical care and research, and lead the implementation of these where relevant Ensure that there is a robust framework for collecting and utilising nursing data and informatics, and for ensuring the timely submission of nationally required data Initiate complex audit / surveys which use research methodology and which span organisational boundaries within the locality and ICS Full Vacancy details can be found on the attached Job Description/Person Specification.
