Job summary To work as part of the small Orthopaedic Assessment Service Booking Team. You will be responsible for providing a booking service to the Orthopaedic Assessment Service in accordance with Trust policies and to ensure services are sensitive to patients' needs. You will be the first point of contact for patients, relatives and carer's accessing the Orthopaedic Assessment Service (usually by phone) and will involve entering patient details on to IT systems and booking appointments. Main duties of the job First point of contact for patients wishing to access the Orthopaedic Assessment Service. Receive telephone calls or emails from patients, carers and relatives with regards to booking their appointment within the Orthopaedic Assessment Service. Book appointments for patients using the eReferrals and Rio systems, ensuring that any referrals have been triaged and book the appointments using the advice and guidance provided by the clinicians. Update patient information as necessary. Deal with queries received from patients, relatives, GP practices, clinicians and medical secretaries.
