Our client, a leader in the defence sector, is currently seeking a Procurement Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Samlesbury. This role requires expertise in procurement and data management to support their high-profile projects. This is a 6-month contract role with the requirement of being on-site 3 to 4 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
* Overseeing the procurement process to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and equipment
* Analysing data to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement within the supply chain
* Working closely with suppliers to negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with defence industry standards
* Collaborating with internal teams to align procurement strategies with project requirements
* Maintaining accurate records of procurement activities and generating reports for management
* Ensuring that all procurement activities comply with regulations and company policies
* Managing risk and providing solutions to mitigate procurement issues
Job Requirements:
* Experience in procurement, particularly within the defence industry
* Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex information
* Understanding of procurement regulations and defence industry standards
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
