Vacancy: Insolvency & Restructuring Solicitor

A well-established, full-service law firm in Guildford is seeking an experienced Insolvency & Restructuring Solicitor to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a leading role within a highly respected practice and contribute to the growth and success of the department.
The Firm
The firm has a strong reputation for delivering tailored legal solutions to individuals, businesses, and insolvency practitioners. Its Insolvency and Restructuring team handles a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters, including corporate restructurings, personal insolvency, formal insolvency proceedings, and litigation. The team has experience working with a diverse client base, including financial institutions, directors, shareholders, creditors, and debtors, providing pragmatic advice on complex legal issues.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Providing legal expertise and guidance on all aspects of insolvency and restructuring law.
2. Leading and developing a team of insolvency professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
3. Managing complex matters such as company voluntary arrangements, administration, and receiverships, including drafting and negotiating related agreements.
4. Meeting departmental fee-earning targets while delivering exceptional client service.
5. Engaging with stakeholders, including insolvency practitioners, directors, and creditors, to provide tailored legal solutions.
6. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including AML and KYC procedures.
7. Developing and maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to business development.
8. Providing strategic advice on growing and developing the department.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
1. A qualification as a solicitor in England with a valid practising certificate.
2. A minimum of 4 years' PQE in insolvency and restructuring matters.
3. Experience in handling both contentious and non-contentious insolvency matters.
4. Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage a varied caseload effectively.
5. Proven leadership, communication, and client management skills.
6. A proactive approach to business development and cross-departmental collaboration.
7. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, including a focus on file management and time recording.
