Job Advert: Teaching Assistant - Permanent Role Start Date: ASAP Location: Ware, Hertfordshire Are you passionate about supporting young learners with special educational needs? We are working closely with a dedicated and inclusive school that caters to pupils aged 2 to 19 years with a range of severe learning difficulties, including both singular and multiple challenges. We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join the team on a permanent basis. About the Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the learning and development of our pupils under the guidance of the Class Teacher. The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive and experienced team, assisting with various activities throughout the school. This will include supporting classroom activities, providing one-on-one or small group support, and assisting with personal care needs where required. Key Responsibilities: Support the delivery of the curriculum, tailoring support to individual pupil needs. Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher and other professionals in the school. Assist with personal care, including feeding, toileting, and dressing. Participate in swimming activities with pupils at least once a week. Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and engaging learning environment. Attend and support after-school club once a week from 3.30pm to 5.15pm.The Ideal Candidate: Experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with severe learning difficulties. Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, are desirable but not essential. A compassionate and patient approach, with a strong desire to support the development of children with complex needs. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from the Class Teacher. A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved in all aspects of school life, including swimming sessions.Working Hours: 34 hours per week Monday to Friday, term time only (43.6 weeks per year) 8.45am to 3.45pm (including a 30-minute lunch break) One after-school club per week (3.30pm to 5.15pm)Salary: £19,000 - £19,500 per annum actual salary (depending on experience and qualifications)If you are dedicated, caring, and eager to make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
