Job Title: Exam Invigilator - 5 Positions Available

Salary Grade: Band D, Scale point 6-7 £13.41 - £13.62 per hour
Contract: This is a permanent casual appointment, as required, 38 weeks per year (term time only)
Start Date: 28th February 2025

The governors of Mary's Catholic College would like to invite applications from excellent, enthusiastic and engaging individuals for the posts of Exam Invigilator. The successful candidate will ensure a calm environment during exams and be vigilant, whilst not disrupting the candidates. Exam Invigilators will ensure that candidates are constantly and appropriately supervised and ensure conduct in the appointed exam room adheres to the College's exam procedures and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Help keep all papers and materials secure at all times.
2. Prepare the exam room for candidates' arrival (lay out candidates' cards, equipment, and papers).
3. Help to organise students at the start and end of each exam.
4. Provide the correct information and material for successful completion of the exam.
5. Ensure that the conduct of the exam takes place within the guidelines set down by the examination board and the school's Examination Policy.
6. Be vigilant, whilst not disrupting the candidates.
7. Report any discrepancy or irregularity in the progress of an examination directly to the examination officer.
8. At the end of examinations, help ensure that answer booklets have been completed correctly, and that question numbers have been entered in the appropriate box on the front of the answer booklets.
9. Collect exam scripts in order, by candidate number.
Requirements:
Reliability, punctuality, and a flexible attitude to work are essential, together with a commitment to availability during busy examination periods. Applicants must be available to work throughout May and June supporting external examinations, and as required throughout the year to support internal examinations and tests, normally November, January, and March. Excellent communication skills, with experience of working with young people aged 11-19, is an advantage.
