About the role
The overall purpose of the role is to manage a shift consisting of up to 20 Production Staff including Warehouse Personnel in the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor, ensuring the Production Plan is adhered to and all customer orders are met, planned and delivered as specified by individual customers.
The person will be a key figure in developing good working relationships with all operational employees, the role will maximise co-operation between planning, production and customer services.

What will you do?
* Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Responsible for ensuring that all machines are running in accordance with the production plan.
* Ensure that all machines are adequately laboured to follow the production plan.
* Monitor machine efficiencies (target OEE 85%) and record accurately machine downtime inclusive of reason.
* Support a culture of Continuous Improvement and CI Projects.
* Liaise with the Quality, Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse & logistics, HR, Sales and Finance departments.
* Ensure accurate data is kept within the company’s ERP system.
* Conduct Return To Work interviews (on day of return).
* Encourage good housekeeping.
* Conduct Performance Appraisals.
* Conduct employee disciplinary investigations and interviews to formal written warning level.
* Review and maintain the Training Matrix.
* Actively promote Employee Engagement activities.
Additional Responsibilities
* Work with the site manager to reduce Operational costs: Materials; Energy; Labour; Transport (MELT).

* Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
* Headcount and overtime metrics.
* Quality complaints and feedback.
* Machine Output and related KPIs, e.g. Cycle time, Run time, Downtime, Plan Efficiencies.
* Stock control.

* The individual must have the right of residence and to work in the UK. They should be located within a reasonable commuting distance to the Site in Howden.
* Ability to be both hands-on and a leader at the same time.
* Excellent communication skills with a ‘can do’ attitude.

* Good analytical skills with experience of logical decision-making.
