Join us on the Journey National Express are recruiting an experienced Scheduler to join our team, based at our Head Office in Digbeth, Birmingham. The successful candidate will develop, compile and negotiate efficient bus and driver schedules and rotas at each garage based on timetables supplied. Provide additional help on timetable compilation as required. What you'll do: Compile garage schedules that comply with labour agreements and meet legal requirements, maintaining and improving efficiency where possible Ensure compliance with appropriate regulations, such as OTC, TfWM, DfT etc. Advise Management and Traffic Office on application and implementation of labour agreement, legal restrictions on driver hours and other aspects of the schedules Have due regard to practical implementation of duties and rotas Negotiate, with assistance from Management where applicable, changes to duties, rotas and local labour agreements Prepare data for tender submissions with advice on likely driver duty cost Use Omnibus and/or other scheduling software to prepare bus and driver schedules Comply with deadlines for service registrations and duty/rota posting Prepare necessary electronic files, including TXC and EBSR files, for bus registrations, BODS data and other digital requirements Prepare customer information including roadside timetables, printed and digital information including information on service changes Analyse data using QData, CitySwift, Omnibus and other systems to assist network development and changes to local and company labour agreements Supply in a timely fashion all associated paperwork and digital information to operations, engineering and finance to enable buses to effectively operate What you'll need: Specialist experience in bus and crew scheduling Strong local knowledge of garage bus services and understanding of wider bus network Qualified by experience and demonstrated knowledge Self-motivated, Intellectually curious and able to work on own initiative Strong analytical skills and numerate Well organised, responsive and able to work with multiple priorities Proficient user of Omnibus and/or other scheduling systems, data analysis software (CitySwift, QData etc) and interfaces with other systems Skilled in manual scheduling and ability to work in event of serious systems failure What we offer in return for your hard work and commitment Free Bus & Coach travel for yourself on the National Express network Complimentary coach travel for a Nominated Person or complimentary bus travel for a Spouse or Partner on the National Express network Life Assurance Company pension Employee Assistance programme Private online GP service National Express is committed to creating an inclusive workplace that reflects the diverse communities we serve and we positively encourage applications from all sectors of the community.
