The Opportunity - Purchasing Project Controller
About the role:
To work within the Service New Product Introduction team in parts set-up & procurement, following an established Plan for Every Part (PFEP) process to ensure that for each project machine launch, our service readiness KPI’s are achieved, working closely with strategic suppliers. The individual will also be required to interact with overseas NPIP counterpart personnel, to establish the setting up of those parts that need to be procured from vendors, incumbent in the country of manufacturing for the JCB product.
To work closely with the NPI Range Control Manager on strategic decisions on parts stocking, initial set-up and procurement quantities for warehouse volumes.
What does this role involve day to day?
1. Ensure that the JCB New Product Introduction Process is adhered to
2. During part set-up ensure that parts pricing, minimum order quantities and lead times are commercially acceptable and contribute to improved stock turn
3. Input safety stock quantities to drive the stock to relevant warehouses
4. Ensure that all the global warehouse stocking and distribution considerations are met
5. To work with the Inventory / Expediting team to resolve problem part issues in the most efficient and timely manner
6. To resolve problem part issues effectively and in a timely manner
7. Also including the setup of the same for service only parts
8. Reporting against NPI metrics per project & maintaining of the service PFEP (plan for every part Doc.)
This will be suited to you if
1. You're an experienced / fully conversant SAP user
2. You have previous roles in a purchasing capacity and proven industry experience within a manufacturing, operations or parts environment
3. CIPS qualification desirable
4. You're able to use MS Office Excel at an intermediary level and be conversant with other MS Office products
5. You're driven and have a structured work approach
6. You're an effective communicator and able to develop relationships internally and with strategic suppliers
7. You have flexibility in terms of work content and response to variable requirements
