Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
As a facilities and electrical engineering apprentice, you will apply building services engineering techniques, procedures, and methods when maintaining or operating building services engineering systems. You will be compliant to the Electrical Wiring Standards. You will manage contractors on electrical installations and make sure all risk assessments and method statements are safe and meet with Health and Safety requirements. You will support with planning works for facility management tasks and electrical requirements onsite. You will also be part of a reactive team problem-solving building maintenance topics as they occur.

* How to comply with statutory requirements and stringent organisational safety requirements
* Producing components using hand fitting techniques
* Producing Electrical or Electronic Drawings using a Computer Aided Design (CAD) system
* Preparing and using lathes, milling and other general or specialist machines and High Tech equipment
* Wiring and testing electrical equipment, assembling and testing electronic circuits
* Using computer software packages to assist with engineering activities

* Maintaining and improving electrical equipment and systems

Your training plan
In-house training plus the candidate will follow a Level 6 Apprenticeship programme and study towards an electrical or electronic support engineer qualification. This training will be structured and delivered by Cheshire College – South & West.

Other requirements
The plant is not on a bus route, so you will require your own transport, when based at Plant. This is a Manufacturing/ Shop floor-based industry. Please ensure you have the essential qualifications before applying for this vacancy.
