Reporting to Sunswap’s Head of Quality, the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will directly support the Supply Chain Team by ensuring all supplier-related quality issues raised at Goods Inwards or in Production are promptly contained and fed back to the supplier, and followed up to ensure effective resolution. The SQE will lead the internal plant containment activities, involving relevant stakeholders as necessary, to agree all necessary actions, owners and timescales necessary to safely continue TRU production. In-plant containment of supplier quality-related issues, through effective planning and stakeholder engagement. Driving supplier quality-related Interim Containment Actions (ICAs) to closure. Populating Supplier Quality Investigation reports, in preparation for feedback to the supplier. With the Supply Chain Team, feeding back supplier-related quality issues to the relevant supplier. Review and approval of supplier Corrective Action Reports. Improving suppliers' problem solving capabilities where necessary, via on-site support activities. Qualifications & experience Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and Core Tools. Experienced in the application of recognised quality tools and methods, including but not limited to Global 8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why, Pareto, etc. Previous SQ experience in automotive manufacturing or in a similar industry. Able to correctly interpret 3D and 2D design data. Conversant with metrology, inspection methods and equipment, as well as a working knowledge of GD&T. Engineering degree and/or a recognised Quality Management qualification. Ability to lead, influence and support, to challenge in a positive attitude. Strong negotiating and communication skills; able to collaborate effectively. Ability to present data accurately and effectively. Planning and prioritising activities and an ability to operate with a level of autonomy. Able to travel at short notice within the UK or worldwide to Suppliers. Full clean driving licence. Advantageous: IATF 16949 qualification. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt qualification.A qualified ISO 9001 auditor or lead assessor.Experience in Confluence and Airtable software tools.
