Coordination of the drafting, Engineering and detailing team. Develop programme and establish timescales for tasks and ensure timescales and project milestones are met.
Central hub for Project Managers to go to for DO resource and allocation and design changes.
Liaise with Workshop Manager for timely handover of drawings and ensure quality of handover is consistently high.
Design solutions, Lean Engineering and gaining an in-depth understanding of the materials handling and Engineering areas of the business.
Establishing a full understanding of the Centristic company work details and the Company profile.
1. Develop thorough understanding of the UKCA marking process, Design Risk Assessments, and workshop and site operations.
2. Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and legislative/regulatory requirements.
3. Further develop and implement quality standards and procedures in the drawing office including electronic filing and maintenance of records.
4. Instigate and manage Kick Off meetings and Technical Reviews for all new works and monitor the progress of drawing production, reporting status and concerns at weekly production meetings with Project managers and Project team. Weekly planner/controlling hours booked and capacities.
5. Responsible for reviews and approval of drawings to maintain required quality standards.
6. Be commercially aware and recognize any changes to specification, notifying the Project team of the change immediately.
7. Responsible for the recording of variations and collating associated survey/drawing hours. Maintain a commercial awareness, ensuring that all work is carried out within budget and that all variations to contract are recorded and issued to the Project/Commercial departments.
8. Main point of contact for all DO personnel, answering queries and giving advice, resolving queries.
9. Be responsible for the drawing office team including Health, Safety and Environment aspects, resource management, staff development and recruitment, training, staff absence/leave, appraisal, disciplinary and grievance issues.
10. Manage the design team on a day-to-day operational basis.
11. Supervise workflow (processes and procedures, templates, efficiency, communication) to ensure all products are produced on time, to the highest quality, and error-free.
12. Coordinate weekly drawing office meetings to:
* Address any problems/issues and work together on solutions.
* Create a forum for DO staff to have input and be heard.
* Discuss current work, expectations and priorities.
* Coach the teams to make sure we're achieving our goals.
