Assistant Design Coordinator
On behalf of a highly successful main contractor, we are keen to speak with construction design professionals who would like to join a c. 200m turnover business as an Assistant Design Coordinator. The role will be to develop design typically from RIBA Stage 4 on new build and refurbishment projects up to £5M and will require visiting sites across Cambridge, Bedford, and the surrounding area, so a driving license is essential.
Duties will include:
* Working with the Design Manager, progressing design from outline to detailed design.
* Assisting in the production of cost-effective designs to meet construction deadlines.
* Identifying potential risks in the design and developing practical solutions to mitigate them.
* Attending Design Team Meetings, providing up-to-date information, and collaborating with external design teams.
* Issuing drawings and new design information to consultants and contractors.
Experience required:
* Some experience in design coordination or architectural practice, familiar with new build construction, preferably across a range of project types.
* Experience working for a main contractor or architectural practice with practical experience of coordinating design information.
* Experience in education, commercial, leisure, retail, distribution, or similar markets is advantageous.
* Experience working on new build projects.
* UK driving license is essential.
Qualifications:
* HNC/HND/BA or BSc in Construction or Architecture related degree.
