Title: Quantity Surveyor - PRIME Residential
CSC Recruitment are working with a leading main contractor within the PRIME residential market to appoint a stand-alone Quantity Surveyor. They are a family-owned business with a turnover in excess of £25 million per annum.
Responsibilities
Cost Management and Estimation:
* Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities.
* Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to ensure project efficiency.
* Monitor project costs to ensure alignment with the budget.
Contract Administration:
* Manage contracts and subcontracts, ensuring all terms and conditions are met.
* Prepare and process payment applications and variations.
* Resolve any contractual and commercial issues promptly and effectively.
Tendering and Procurement:
* Prepare tender documents and manage the tender process.
* Evaluate tender submissions and make recommendations for contract awards.
* Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices.
* Prepare regular financial reports for senior management, including cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and budget analysis.
* Conduct regular financial reviews to ensure projects are on track financially.
* Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
* Conduct site visits to gather information for risk assessments and cost estimates.
Client and Stakeholder Liaison:
* Maintain effective communication with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
* Provide clients with accurate and timely updates on project costs and financial status.
Project Support:
* Assist in the preparation of project budgets and monitor project costs against the budget throughout the project lifecycle.
* Collaborate with the project team to manage change orders and variations effectively.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
* Ensure all work complies with statutory requirements and industry standards.
* Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in all deliverables.
Company
Projects range in value from £3 million through to £12 million and are generally JCT D&B form of contract.
Candidate
This Quantity Surveyor needs to be detail-oriented and will play a key role in ensuring the financial and contractual success of our projects, from inception to completion. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for cost management, contract administration, and financial reporting on a range of construction projects.
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
* Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, CATO, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and building regulations.
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
