An esteemed Multi-Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of Computer Science to join the permanent teaching staff of one of its high-achieving secondary schools in Reading. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire and develop students' digital skills in a thriving and forward-thinking learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging and innovative Computer Science lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5.
2. Foster a stimulating classroom environment that encourages student curiosity and enthusiasm for technology and programming.
3. Plan and assess lessons in accordance with the national curriculum and examination board requirements.
4. Support and mentor students in developing computational thinking, coding proficiency, and problem-solving skills.
5. Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular clubs and initiatives related to Computer Science and technology.
6. Collaborate with colleagues to drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning within the department.
Person Specification:
1. Qualifications: A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) with a specialism in Computer Science or a related field.
2. Experience: Prior experience teaching Computer Science at secondary level is desirable, but applications from ECTs (Early Career Teachers) are also welcomed.
3. Teaching Skills: Ability to deliver dynamic and student-centred lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
4. Commitment: A proactive and enthusiastic approach to education, with a passion for inspiring young minds and contributing to the school's ethos.
5. Safeguarding: Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with a willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
