Are you ready to be part of a dedicated team that delivers first-class, proactive claims handling services to major clients? Davies is looking to recruit a talented Liability Claims Handler to join our growing Casualty team.
This exciting opportunity will see the successful candidate working as part of a dedicated team providing a first-class proactive claims handling service to major clients. The ideal candidate will have experience with EL (Employer Liability)/PL (Public Liability) Claims and Liability investigation.
What will your day look like:
* Engage with Insurers, Policyholders, and Brokers: Build strong relationships and ensure seamless communication.
* Investigation of Claims: Investigate allocated claims from the desk, or via referral to a field adjuster for site investigation where appropriate.
* Document management: Obtain all necessary evidence and relevant documentation.
* Resolve Cases: Determine appropriate actions for the resolution of the case.
* Negotiate Settlements: Negotiate settlement where appropriate, within agreed authority limits.
* Professional Correspondence: Correspond with all parties professionally to proactively progress the case to conclusion.
* Adhere to Client Requirements: Handle all cases in accordance with the client’s requirements by referral to documented procedures at all times.
* Maintain Reserves: Maintain a proper reserve at all times by regular review.
* Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, where required, providing advice on policy indemnity, legal liability, quantum, and tactics.
* Stay Updated: Keep updated on any technical changes relevant to your role, which may include participating in training programmes facilitated by the company.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Essential:
* Experience handling EL & PL claims.
* Knowledge of how to value an injury claim.
* Good communication skills at all levels.
* Excellent customer service.

* Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility.
* Good planning and organisational skills.
* Strong IT skills.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of reserving philosophies.
* Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal.
