To advise on data recording practices to ensure clinical coding accurately reflects themes identified within our maternity reports which are provided to Trusts and families to increase learning across the wider healthcare system. Undertake internal clinical coding validation and support the application of coded MNSI data for thematic and other wider system learning. To support the programme by communication of complex coding issues and National coding standards to ensure accuracy and consistency of information. To extract, analyse and translate data contained within investigation reports into diagnostic, procedural and Human factors codes in an accurate and timely manner adhering to the programmes deadlines. To be the subject matter expert responsible for leading MNSIs clinical and thematic coding work and to develop and deliver training on coding standards across the MNSI programme. Ensure accuracy and completeness of the clinical coding to national clinical coding standard. To work with internal Clinical Advisors on a regular basis to validate clinically coded data. Job description The post holder will work to ensure the data which MNSI holds is recorded in a consistent manner and will support the improvement of clinical documentation and accurate, timely coding of clinical data. The role sits within a small business services team who provide the operational support to the maternity programme. The post holder will be responsible for the ownership of the clinical coding process and themes within the organisation and as the sole employee within the team with this specialist skill set you will be the subject matter expert. The post holder will be used to fast paced, changing landscape and able to prioritise workloads as well as address the needs of the business. Person specification Extensive knowledge of clinical coding, through equivalent experience or training Advanced knowledge of complex medical terminology and anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of SNOMED CT. Robust working Knowledge of Microsoft applications e.g., excel, word etc. and keyboard typing skills.
