Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be providing clinical and administrative support for the provision of dental care in Defence Primary Healthcare Dental (DPHC D) dental centres, to enhance force generation and operational capability and minimise dental morbidity on operations.
Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
* Meet the needs of the patients by monitoring, supporting and reassuring each individual according to their specific needs, providing appropriate advice when required.
* Maintain the standard and cleanliness of the surgery and accommodation for which they are responsible, reporting any deficiencies in accordance with local protocols.
* Provide chair-side support to the operator for all operative procedures.
* Record accurate dental charting for each patient as required by the Clinician, Practice Supervisor/Manager, Receptionist and patient, as appropriate.

Qualifications
* National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) Certificate or NVQ in Oral Health Care Dental Nursing Level 3.
* Due to COVID-19, there is now a requirement for dental clinical staff to be fit tested for a FFP3 mask, which has to be worn when managing a patient who is undergoing an aerosol generating procedure (AGP). The successful candidate will be fit tested prior to commencing employment.
Registration and Memberships
* Must be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC).
* Please provide your membership registration number.
* You are required to be registered with the relevant professional body, as detailed in the advert, prior to submitting your application.
* Your application will not progress should you fail to provide a valid membership registration number.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Salary: £26,530 to £29,114 a year (Per Annum, Pro-Rata for part time)
