Bowker Sadler are seeking a self-motivated and experienced person to eventually lead the Practice in discharging our duties when appointed as Principal Designer CDM or Principal Designer (Building Regs).
This senior role in the Practice will provide support and guidance to all members of staff involved in day-to-day running of projects. As well as having input to emerging design work, and managing/arranging ongoing CPD on all matters ‘health and safety’, the successful person will build on our existing systems and protocols to maintain QA records of actions on each project, monitoring activities as projects proceed from inception to completion.
Working within our existing PD team on a wide range of building types, the successful candidate will initially provide support to ensure legislative compliance with the Building Safety Act and Secondary Regulations and eventually become the lead Principal Designer within the Practice, having responsibility for managing and developing the role with the potential for promotion to Associate / Director level.
The ideal person will have:

* Ability to influence the design team and other project team members.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to get on with others.
* High ethical standards and commitment to compliance with regulations.
The role would suit somebody from a Building Control or Clerk of Works background with a strong knowledge of the Building Regs or a Project Manager with the same background and who has experience in discharging duties under the PD (CDM) role.
If you have a particular interest in health and safety and have been operating within the architectural design, project management or contracting sectors we would love to hear from you.
