An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Hotel Reservations Agent. Based at our Holiday Inn Express Hotel in Poole, you will assist the Revenue, Reservations & Events Sales Manager. As the Reservations Agent, you will handle telephone enquiries, manage bookings, and effectively sell available rooms to maximize revenue. You will ensure each guest or caller is handled efficiently and courteously, with all bookings processed in Opera and confirmed with the client according to company standards. What will your key responsibilities and duties be:
* Ensure that guests' reservations are accurately entered into our system.
* Work closely with the Group Revenue Manager and General Manager to maximize room revenue and sales.
* Perform quality checks on reservations to ensure a smooth guest experience.
* Respond to calls and email requests promptly.
* Upsell services to enhance guest experience and revenue.
* Convert inquiries into confirmed bookings.
* Assist the Sales Manager as needed.
* Support hotel operations as required.
* Maintain strong relationships with third-party travel agents.
* Provide colleagues with weekly and monthly reports.
Job Requirements
* At least 2 years' experience working in a hospitality reservations environment
* Experience in a branded hotel would be a bonus!
* Someone who is revenue/sales hungry and target driven, and is looking to make a real difference to our hotels.
* Proactive, composed, enthusiastic, approachable, able to build strong rapport with guests and managers, and able to motivate your team under pressure;
* Excellent communication skills in all aspects; good organisational and administrative skills with an eye for detail;
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point presentations;
* Willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings (only if needed), weekends and bank holidays
