We're supporting our client, a leading global injection moulding company based in West Drayton, who are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Manufacturing Engineer will have extensive manufacturing experience with injection moulding and assembly equipment.
Position Overview:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be providing Engineering support to ensure health & safety, quality, efficiency and repeatability of processes on current and new equipment.
Responsibilities for Manufacturing Engineer:
1. Identify unsafe practices, escalate immediately and propose solutions to overcome the issue.
2. Verify that manufacturing processes are fit for purpose by achieving quality and performance targets and ensuring that there are no health and safety issues.
3. Conduct risk assessments where required.
4. Work with Quality Engineers to verify the effectiveness of quality control systems.
5. Develop operating instructions and troubleshooting guides for manufacturing processes/equipment.
6. Monitor manufacturing processes, identifying and justifying potential improvements.
7. Investigate breakdowns and propose future preventive actions.
8. Provide training and guidance to colleagues for existing and new equipment.
9. Ensure that root causes are identified to implement robust corrective actions.
10. Participate in process improvement teams to resolve issues as required.
11. Keep up to date with specifications, technology and manufacturing processes.
12. Attend training courses and preferably participate in a Continuing Professional Development programme affiliated to a professional body and attain recognition yourself.
13. To comply with all current work instructions operable within the organisation.
14. To comply fully with all current Health & Safety regulations in operation within the Company whilst carrying out your duties.
15. To carry out any reasonable task which falls within your capabilities.
About You:
1. Extensive manufacturing experience with injection moulding and assembly equipment.
2. Evidence of implementing new processes and equipment in addition to continuous improvement within a fast-paced operations environment.
3. Ideally educated to degree level, advanced apprenticeship in engineering or equivalent work-based experience.
4. 4+ years of engineering experience.
5. Assembly and moulding equipment experience desired.
6. Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
7. Knowledge of HSE processes and standards.
8. IEE 17th or 18th Edition desired.
9. PLC experience is desired.
10. Air and pneumatics training desired.
