COOK required on a temporary basis starting as soon as possible until 30th June 2025, with possibility of extension.
Working hours : Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 3.00pm (32.5h/week) during term-time.
Salary : NJC11 (£14.5269/h): full rate paid on school teaching days and bank holidays, retainer rate (half rate) paid during periods of holiday/non-teaching days.
Annual leave entitlement paid at full rate.
Job Description : To assist the Head Chef in all activities concerned with the preparation and cooking of meals in the College cafeteria.
Skilled cooking activities connected with the full range of meals (for example, assist with the preparation of menus, portion control, the provision of special dietary meals and occasional function catering where appropriate).
Criteria :
- Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (Chartered Institute of Environmental Health) or equivalent* (attained within the last 3 years or appropriate refresher training); together with Level 2 Diploma (City & Guilds) in Professional Cookery or equivalent*.
- OR (if not qualified) a minimum of 2 full years’ proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a catering establishment.
