Electrical Design Engineer

The Electricity Designer plays a critical role in designing and reviewing electricity infrastructure for commercial and residential developments. They ensure technical and commercial compliance, oversee project timelines, and provide mentorship across the business while maintaining accreditation and compliance standards.

The ideal candidate is organised, reliable, and detail-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently. They excel in communication, manage time effectively, and balance accuracy with deadlines while fostering collaboration within the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and review electricity infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Coordinate design processes with other utility services and manage design variations.
* Approve designs from the wider team and provide technical guidance.
* Prepare quotations and high-level designs for tendering.
* Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) standards.
* Develop training materials and mentor team members to enhance expertise.
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives and accreditation maintenance.
* Provide technical support during tendering and pre-start meetings.
Key Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience in designing electrical networks up to 11kV.
* Comprehensive knowledge of DNO and IDNO standards and practices.
* Proficiency with electrical design tools like Windebut or VisNet Connect.
* Understanding of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
* Desirable: AutoCAD proficiency, experience with costing models, and progress toward professional registration.
