Contracts & Relationships Officer Job Type: Hybrid, Temporary Contract, Full Time Location: Barnsley S70 Rate: £250 per day We are seeking a Contracts & Relationships Officer to provide professional and practical support in the commissioning and performance management of a range of services. This role ensures that services are delivering outcomes in accordance with specifications and available resources. Day-to-day of the role: Support the development of new service specifications, contract schedules, and manage routine contract compliance. Assist with the preparation of contract documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures. Provide advice and guidance on commissioned services, ensuring information is effectively communicated to both internal and external stakeholders. Support the procurement of new services, including providing technical support in the use of the council’s electronic procurement system. Undertake service reviews focusing on performance management, quality assurance, and delivery of outcomes, ensuring continuous improvement and value for money. Gather, analyse, and present clear and accurate data to guide contracting, commissioning of services, and monitoring of performance against standards. Establish and maintain systems for document management and routine performance monitoring. Assist with the preparation of reports and presentations. Liaise, negotiate, and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of commissioned services. Required Skills & Qualifications: Relevant Level 5 qualification or significant equivalent experience in health and/or social care, local authority organisation, supported housing setting, or a third sector service supporting vulnerable adults. Significant experience in contracting, procurement, or commissioning within a health or social care organisation/service. Proven ability to undertake service reviews to improve outcomes and ensure value for money. Experience in providing professional advice and guidance to a range of stakeholders relating to contracts and performance. Familiarity with performance management frameworks or tools. Demonstrated commitment to continuous service improvement and enthusiasm for improving service outcomes.
