We are looking to recruit an experienced and dedicated Deputy Manager across the Wheaton Aston area. This is a full-time position.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, qualified candidate to join the team in one of our children's residential homes. We are currently offering a very competitive salary plus benefits including a quality bespoke training package and generous remuneration for sleep-in shifts. We specialise in supporting Children and Young People who have suffered early life trauma, neglect or abuse and may display challenging behaviours.

Essential requirements:
* Full manual driving licence
* Fully flexible with the ability to work unsociable shift patterns
* Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent
* The desire to develop into a Registered Children’s Home Manager
* Participation in further professional development to support the needs of our young people
* A clear passion and desire to support children and young people
* Active membership in a progressive and committed team
Job requirements:
* Provide positive parenting
* Exceptional communication skills
* Sound working knowledge of current legislation e.g., Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 (including quality standards)
* Support and provide positive role modelling to the staff team (including completing supervisions)
* Prepared to complete Diploma Level 5 in Children’s Residential Care
* Open-minded and empathetic in a calm and professional manner
* Attend meetings on behalf of the Manager in a professional manner
The main duties of this role include:
* Lead the team to deliver high-quality care to our young people
* Ensure all risks are safely managed in line with company policies and procedures
* Communicate effectively with the team regarding plans for the day
* Review young people's care plans and associated documentation
* Undertake an in-depth quality and bespoke training package
* Attend/chair staff meetings and be proactive in developing and improving the service model
* Act as an advocate for the young person while using a positive parenting model
* Work with young people using positive support strategies including de-escalation tools and techniques using in-house training (PRICE)
* Provide support to the Manager to complete day-to-day tasks
* Run the home in the absence of the Manager
* Complete on-call duties as required
Salary per annum:
Up to £37.6k, including sleep-in allowance (£70.47 per sleep-in with an average of 11 per month) plus time and a third for overtime.
