Job Overview
Are you interested in joining our world-leading clinical animal behaviour team at the University of Lincoln to work on a project investigating the management of anxiety in dogs? We are looking for a veterinary surgeon, preferably with clinical animal behavioural experience or qualification to work with us examining the effect of a supplement on anxiety in dogs.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and manage your own case load at the clinic regarding dogs suffering from anxiety-related issues, especially with concomitant gastro-intestinal signs.
2. Report on these cases as a case series.
3. Work independently on your own project while also collaborating with the wider clinical behaviour team.
4. Take the lead in managing a series of cases relating to the effects of a probiotic on dogs with anxiety.
5. Maintain excellent case documentation and manage multiple clients over an extended time period.
6. Become an active member of the Animal Behaviour Cognition and Welfare Group at the University of Lincoln.
Qualifications
Ideally, you will be an MRCVS, but we will also consider an experienced veterinary graduate whose degree is not automatically registerable with the RCVS. Postgraduate qualification in veterinary behavioural medicine or equivalent experience is highly desirable, but not essential for an appropriately motivated candidate.
Skills
You will need to have:
1. Excellent interpersonal skills to work with owners and vets as part of our clinical team.
2. Interest in research and developing your research skills.
3. Strong organizational skills.
