Production Team Leader Assistant Swadlincote Night shift Up to £29,000 shift allowance overtime (£37,000) SF Recruitment are recruiting for a Production Team Leader Assistant to work for our established manufacturing client based in Swadlincote. This role would suit a candidate looking to establish themselves as a Team Leader position or an already experienced Team Leader looking to develop. The role: - Manage the activities of production teams to manage and coordinate the effective and efficient planning & placement of manpower. This includes inventory control for the assigned area including all MRP movement Tasks and Responsibilities: - Overall day to-day running of assigned area on a designated shift in support of the Value Stream Leader - Execute the daily production plans issued to the assigned area, offering support and adaptability when necessary - Support the VSL & VSM to achieve orderbook requirements and Sales Targets driven by the business - To ensure full loading of direct operators to maximise production output and achieve the daily plan - Support the assigned area to focus on Scrap Reduction Absence Control, H&S and Continuous Improvement Initiatives - Hourly check in of plan v actual with operators - Hourly check of scrap and enforcement of stop, call, wait process - Confirm tooling, material and process adherence - First off checks for the continuation of product moulding - Maximising the performance and efficiencies of their assigned area as well as any shared function - Ensure that their team is motivated and working in a productive and positive atmosphere - Promotes a good standard of housekeeping and 5S - Full control over production teams adhering to MIS & SOPs - Physical spot checks of parts to ensure all are OK as declared - Ensure all operators are aware of correct methods to ensure tooling is not damaged - Deliver the start of shift briefs with operators in line with template - Manage Operators in line with Absence Control Procedure, carry out RTW meetings - Support SafetyWork within their area of responsibility, developing a safety culture - Support 5s initiatives and all Lean/ CI projects: Lead minimum of 3 Six sigma/ Lean events in year Education and Experience: - 5 years of manufacturing experience with supervisory abilities - Strong background in Lean/Six Sigma preferred. - IOSH - proven track record of improving and developing effective safety systems - Degree or Higher qualification in an operational discipline - Must possess strong leadership, drive, and change management skills, with high degree of integrity, energy and standards for excellence. - Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must at all levels in the organization. - Ability to optimize and prioritise individual and assigned area work load. - Ability to develop data collection and analysing methods, tracking systems, & reporting of KPI deliverables (Both current and new). - Technical acumen to solve technical and production or process issues. - Ability to utilize basic Manufacturing Excellence tools such as 5S, Lean, etc. - Ability to engage in presentations, team improvement meetings with the occasional requirement to travel for training. - Strong skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook/Excel/powerpoint/word) - Ability to positively engage and resolve employee related issues e.g. conflict, attendance, performance - Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement effective control procedures (Quality, HR and Safety)
