If so, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Band 8b Psychology Lead to work across the Barnet CAMHS Teams based at the Holly Oak Clinic, Edgware Community Hospital.
Main Duties of the Job
Take a lead role, in partnership and collaboration with the part-time Psychology Lead and other senior clinicians across disciplines, for developing psychological therapy pathways and model-driven interventions for children, young people, and their families/carers in a community CAMHS setting. This post is located within the multidisciplinary CAMHS 0-18 service, delivering generic and neurodevelopmental assessments and psychological interventions to families living within the borough of Barnet.
1. Take delegated management responsibility for appraisals, offer supervision to trainee and qualified Clinical and Counselling Psychologists and ensure supervision arrangements are in place for the psychology staff within the Barnet CAMHS service.
2. Co-lead the monthly Psychology Meeting and oversee the continuous professional development of Psychologists in the service.
3. Deputise for the CAMHS Consultant Counselling/Clinical Psychologist in their absence.
4. Work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological therapy practice within the borough service, in collaboration with the Clinical Lead and the Head of Therapies.
5. Utilise research skills for audit, policy, and service development and research.
6. Propose and implement policy changes within the borough-based CAMHS service and Trust-wide CAMHS forums.

Training & Qualifications
Essential:
* Postgraduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies, and lifespan developmental psychology.
* Completed recognised clinical/counselling psychology supervisor training.
* Registration with the HCPC.
Desirable:
* Post-doctoral training in one or more specialised area of psychological practice.
Experience
Essential:
* Substantial experience of working as a qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist in community CAMHS settings.
* Extensive experience of providing psychological therapies to children, young people, and their families with a wide range of mental health problems.
* Experience of working with children, young people, and their families/carers and presenting with the full range of clinical severity across care settings.
* Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment.
* Experience of teaching, training, and consultation.
* Experience of offering clinical supervision to clinical psychologists and individuals of other disciplines conducting psychological therapy.
Desirable:
* Experience of assessing and treating children, young people, and their families across care settings.
* Experience of administration and interpretation of CAMHS psychometric tests/measures.
* Experience of the application of psychological therapies in different cultural contexts.
* Experience of service development.
* Experience of representing psychology within the context of multi-disciplinary care.
Knowledge and Skills
Essential:
* Skills in the use of complex methods of assessment, intervention, and management.
* Well-developed skills in communicating effectively, orally and in writing, highly technical, and clinically sensitive information.
* Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology.
* Knowledge of legislation in relation to children, young people, safeguarding, and mental health.
* Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the HCPC.
Desirable:
* Well-developed knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies and assessment methodologies.
Other
Essential:
* Ability to identify, provide, and promote appropriate means of support to children, young people, families, and staff exposed to distressing situations.
* Ability to develop and use complex multi-media materials for presentations.
* Interest in developing and delivering new models of service delivery.
