An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic andmotivated Nursing Associate to join our vibrant, forward-thinking practice. Thesuccessful candidate will be an integral part of the nursing team and will beresponsible for participating in the delivery of high-quality patient care. We welcomeapplications from both newly qualified Nurse Associates and those with widerNHS/Primary Care experience. Ideally 20 hours per week the role is funded and jointly employed through our Primary Care Network but based in the surgery. Opportunities to work in the wider teams is possible if candidates may wish.

About the Nursing Associate role:
Nursing associates work with healthcare support workers andregistered nurses to deliver care for patients and the public.
Your primary responsibility in the practice is the delivery of practice nursing services, working as part of the practicemultidisciplinary team, delivering care within your scope of practice to our patient population. The nursing associate has a breadth of knowledgeacross the fields of nursing, providing holistic and person-centred care andsupport for people of all ages. This role will assist clinical staff in theprovision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patienteducation.

The following are the core responsibilities of the Nurse Associate role. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Treatment room duties in line with competency basic wound care, suture/clip removal, ECG, phlebotomy, urinalysis.
2. Monitoring of long-term conditions/annual review QOF related with complex patients being referred to registered nurse.
3. Administration of injections and vaccinations including flu, pneumonia, shingles and B12.
4. Implement and participate in vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults and children.
5. Administering of medication in accordance within regulatory guidelines for Nurse Associates.
6. Cervical screening following public health guidance on training requirements.
7. Low level referrals such as social prescribing, smoking cessation, and weight management.
8. Ensure infection prevention and control guidelines are adhered to.
9. Monitor patient outcomes including escalation of interventions, when necessary, recognise abnormalities and be aware of the appropriate action to take.
10. Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care.
11. Check compliance with and adherence to appropriate treatments using a holistic patient centred approach.
12. Use of interpreting and translating services.
13. Chaperoning duties.
14. Be responsible for the maintenance of equipment and stock control: including refrigeration, vaccine ordering, single use equipment, general treatment room equipment and stock emergency drugs and equipment.
15. Vaccine cold chain storage, monitoring and recording.
16. Maintain accurate records in line with practice policy and NMC guidelines using appropriate computer software.
17. Communicate effectively with other members of the practice team and wider primary care network providing input and support to colleagues in the treatment and care of patients.
18. Co-operate and participate as required in any research projects within the practice.
19. Participate in practice audits, quality improvement activities, service assessment and service redesign.
20. Take responsibility for a lead area.
21. Participate in the development of practice policies: procedures and guidelines where appropriate.
