Role Overview:
Introduction to the role: To provide an effective and flexible administrative service and support the national Banking team particularly on real estate finance and corporate financing transactions, to ensure it functions efficiently in a manner which meets its objectives and the on-going needs of the team and the firm.
Introduction To The Team: We are an ambitious, dynamic and growing Banking team experienced in advising a range of clients, from clearing banks and challenger banks to property investors and developers on the full range of banking finance transactions – both domestic and cross-border. The Paralegal role will play a key part in the team by providing support for our busy Partners and fee earners.
Key Responsibilities:
* File Management – creating and archiving electronic files and ensuring compliance procedures are adhered to (including KYC and AML procedures)
* Records - archiving and recovery of records as requested by fee earning staff
* Scanning and photocopying documents
* Filing
* Billing
* Legal research
* Assisting the team with transactions including the management of electronic data rooms
* Drafting and reviewing transaction documents
* Project managing transactions and assisting with the review and collection of conditions precedent
* Liaising with other lawyers and clients
* Organising and attending meetings/calls
* Dealing with post completion transaction matters
What We Are Looking For:
Important criteria:
* Administrative experience gained within a professional services environment
* Understanding of the Legal industry and an interest in banking finance and/or real estate finance
* Organises own work effectively and has the ability to handle multiple projects, shifting priorities and meet deadlines
* Ability to pick up tasks quickly and on short notice
* Excellent communication skills in person, over the phone/Teams and via email
* IT skills (Microsoft applications including Word, Outlook and Excel)
* Ability to operate in a busy target driven environment
* Demonstrates understanding of client needs/expectations
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to take responsibility for own learning and expand knowledge in our field
* Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
* Demonstrable experience of working flexibly and proactively within a team structure along with the ability to work to own initiative
* Goes above and beyond to ensure client needs and expectations are met
It would be beneficial for you to have some of the following:
* Previous administrative or paralegal experience gained in a law firm, particularly within a banking finance team
* Familiar with software and applications used in law firms including AI
