Hospice Live-In CNA (Healthcare)
Traditions Home Health Services is seeking a skilled, experienced, dedicated, and compassionate licensed CNA who is skilled with hospice for a 7-day live-in care in the Winchester area. The Hospice CNA would assist the client on a daily schedule from 7am - 10pm, with times varying depending on the client's routine.
The commitment and time off policy for the Live-In CNA position requires the CNA to commit to their client for at least 1 year, completing 4 months before requesting time off. Most clients are long-term, and time off requests can usually be accommodated for 1 week with a 4-week advance notice to scheduling.
On a typical day, the CNA would assist clients with:
1. Morning schedule including toileting, incontinence care, bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication reminders.
2. Preparing nutritious meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner according to the care plan, including assistance with cutting food and feeding.
3. Encouraging fluid intake throughout the day.
4. Household support including changing linens, laundry, cleaning dishes, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
5. Transfers and stand-by ambulation, as clients are at a fall risk.
6. Daily exercise routines per the care plan, including walking and ROM exercises.
7. Administering scheduled or prn Hospice medications, documenting and performing proper med counts.
8. Providing stimulating activities such as games, puzzles, music, conversations, and looking at photo albums.
9. Assisting clients with their nighttime routine, including dressing and toileting.
10. Maintaining a schedule to ensure clients' briefs are dry and free from irritation, documenting findings as required.
11. Performing daily skin integrity checks and reporting any concerns to the manager.
12. Digital documentation throughout the day regarding the client's appetite, mood, toileting, bowel movements, incontinence care, and activities.
13. Competency with transfers and transfer techniques.
14. Adhering to Infection Control Policies, including frequent handwashing and disinfecting surfaces.
15. Reporting any supply needs to the Traditions Home Health Team immediately.
The Live-in CNA plays a crucial role in providing care and ensuring a safe and joyful environment for clients.
